VIRTUAL MEEETINGS

We understand that you’re probably struggling to continue regular business operations. This probably means you can no longer meet clients face to face, hold in-country workshops or travel to conferences. You’re probably using a virtual platform, such as Zoom, for some of your local and international meetings. Has language sometimes been a barrier?

Entendemos que probablemente esté luchando para continuar con sus operaciones comerciales de forma regular. 74 PARTICIPANTS, 17 COUNTRIES

Like you, we’re using technology in new and creative ways so that we can continue providing interpreting services for our clients.  

Last week we interpreted during a meeting with 74 participants from 17 countries. We have been interpreting at a series of ongoing weekly 4-hour workshops on sanitation for a UN agency. We have participated in business meetings, webinars and conference calls with people from all over the world without traveling or breaking lockdown and social distancing rules.

Al igual que usted, estamos usando la tecnología de formas nuevas y creativas para poder seguir proporcionando servicios de interpretación a nuestros clientes.  

La semana pasada interpretamos durante una reunión con 74 participantes de 17 países. Hemos estado interpretando en una serie de talleres semanales de 4 horas sobre saneamiento para una agencia de la ONU. Hemos participado en reuniones de negocios, seminarios web y conferencias telefónicas con gente de todo el mundo sin viajar o infringir las reglas de confinamiento y distanciamiento social.

REMOTE SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING (RSI)

Professional RSI can only be delivered by experienced interpreters, in optimal working conditions and with good technical support. At each meeting we work as a team of two interpreters in a sound-proofed space, side by side (not in different countries), with a professional sound technician.  

We believe in the importance of preparation, coordination with the client (we always request documents prior to the event), good client microphones – we can’t interpret what we can’t hear! In other words, we take our work seriously.

INTERPRETACIÓN SIMULTÁNEA A DISTANCIA (RSI)

La RSI profesional sólo puede realizarse por intérpretes con experiencia, bajo condiciones de trabajo óptimas y con un buen apoyo técnico. En cada reunión trabajamos como equipo con dos intérpretes, uno al lado del otro (no en países diferentes), en un espacio insonorizado y con un técnico de sonido profesional.  

Creemos en la importancia de la preparación, en la coordinación con el cliente (siempre solicitamos los documentos pertinentes antes del evento) y en la necesidad de que el cliente tenga buenos micrófonos – ¡no podemos interpretar lo que no escuchamos! En otras palabras, nos tomamos nuestro trabajo muy en serio.
